Is Victoria Secret really so iconic?

I think we all know VS the shows,angels, Adriana Lima and the big wings…. but what is behind this big industry? And is it still up to date?

For those how dont know Victoria secret, it’s a Lingerie brand which is well known for his big shows,with artists like the spice girls,the weekend, and the models often wore really big wings(the models with wings got called „angels“)

 
It was founded in the 70s by Roy Raymond and got sold in the 80s to Lesley Wexner who invented the iconic “body sprays” and “miracle bra” which the brand is really know for. Edward Razek also really high in VS was responsible for the Creative stuff(1983-2019) like the shows.

 In 2018 he made a really critical statement with saying he does not want that trans and plus size models are on the runway for Vs because it would destroy the fantasy the shows were know for. WTF!!!

“If you’re asking if we’ve considered putting a transgender model in the show or looked at putting a plus-size model in the show, we have,” he continued. “We invented the plus-size model show in what was our sister division, Lane Bryant. Lane Bryant still sells plus-size lingerie, but it sells a specific range, just like every specialty retailer in the world sells a range of clothing. As do we. We market to who we sell to, and we don’t market to the whole world. We attempted to do a television special for plus-sizes [in 2000]. No one had any interest in it, still don’t.”

There’s also one thing that a lot of people might not know like that the financial advisor from Les Wexer was Jefrey Epstein?!yes the guy who’s is known for sexual abuse and human trafficking and stuff like that…Wtf??!! How did we all missed that?!After that the sells got so bad that they had to stop doing the shows….which was really was good.

A NEW ERA

After the story with Epstein and the article with Ed Razek no one really cared about Victoria secret. After all the backlash in the past years it got kinda quit until in 2023 “Victoria’s Secret: The Tour ’23” which wasn’t really good it only got a 1.6 out of 5 stars which is not really good;) But here we could see more plus size models… After a 4 year long pause they got a surprising comeback show(2024) with models like Alex Consani(who also won “Model of the year” in the same year) and Ashley Graham or Anok Yai.
